Juve, no regrets for Kulusevski’s costs. It is the wild card for Pirlo’s ‘two-phase’ module | First page

In the post-covid era, having spent almost 40 million on a young man of great prospect might seem madness and someone, at Continassa, the specter who for Dejan Kulusevski Juve (who are now desperately trying to make ends meet) would not have bet the same amount in reality they are shaking him. However, the new coach is putting a lot of effort to silence the ill-thinkers Andrea Pirlo who has already decided to bet on the talent of the Swede, making him a perfect joker for his “two-phase” module.

4-4-2 or 4-3-3? – Given that Juventus 2020/21 will not have a standard form, but more variations of the same game idea, Pirlo is mainly working on a team that can attack with the 4-3-3 form and defend with a 4-4-2. A two-phase module in which however it will be useful someone capable of self-sacrifice either in the defensive climb from the midfield to the defense line or from the attack to the midfield line. And in this second case Kulusevksi becomes fundamental.

JOLLY – In fact, already in Parma, the Swedish talent showed a propensity to sacrifice in the defensive phase in which, starting from a high attacking winger, he often found himself lending a hand even in defense. Pirlo basically asks him for the same sacrifice that, for example, does not belong to Douglas Costa’s characteristics while he is more in the strings of Cuadrado and Bernardeschi. The goal, in fact, is to be able to keep both Ronaldo and Dybala in an advanced phase or, if he arrives, Suarez or Dzeko on duty. Kulusevski is therefore the joker that the bianconeri needed and Pirlo will not fail to use him. To silence the criminals and make the 40 million spent on him profit.
